After releasing my album a few weeks ago, I’ve been at a loss of what to do next with my music. There always seems to be too many options, and wish that the next step was obvious to me. I’ve been writing poetry and learning more guitar, playing April’s ukulele, talking about collaborating with some friends on some songs. But I still wasn’t seeing a clear path to take. But last night I decided to re-score some more movie trailers. Composing for film is still my dream, and I need practice. I’ve started writing the music for a movie called Touching Home with Ed Harris, looks like a very moving film, and so far I’m feeling very inspired writing the music for it!
If anyways knows of a movie coming out I should try re-writing the trailer music for, let me know! I did “2012″ a couple months ago which was awesome and challenging! So much fun!

Aside from music, yesterday was Opening Day for baseball!!! My favorite time of year GO TWINS!!!!

TICKETS!!!

Totally unrelated to my music career…single game tickets to the Twins at Target Field went on sale today at 9 AM!!! And despite figuring out that the tickets actually went on sale at 8:45, I still sat in the ‘virtual waiting room’ for almost an hour, and the best tickets I could get were the second to the top row of the furthest possible spot from home plate. BUT at least I’ll have a view of the nighttime skyline May 11th vs. the White Sox…going to be intense!

Hey folks, I’m thrilled to announce that my album “Why We’re Here” is out on iTunes now!!! Check it out, tell your friends, write a review! I’m so excited to finally be able to share what I’ve been working on with my friends! I won’t be printing any physical copies of the album, so iTunes is where to go. Woo!!!

I can see the finish line, it’s so close! I’m done mixing the record, and it’s off to the distributor!!! So now it’s just the waiting game to getting it on iTunes, etc. Here’s the artwork for the album, created by the beautiful April Czarnetzki, my girlfriend!

I love this time of year…cause it’s time for BASEBALL!! I’m the baseball nerd that gets the mlb.com app the day it comes out..I have a countdown to the season opener..and I wear my Twins apparel far too often, or maybe not enough? GO TWINS!!!

Snow Interference

Hey friends,
I’m finishing up mixing the record tonight! I’ve been dinging around with it too long, which is fine since it’s been a learning process, but after a point I’m sure I’m just making things worse So tonight is the end of it! Which means on to mastering! I’m ready to finish up this project and prepare for what comes next, which I’m still unsure about.

I’m booking a performance at Lampost in Cedar Falls, IA for early April. I’ve never performed my personal songs before, so this is quite adventuresome for me. I’m going to incorporate some visual art into the performance as well, because who wants to see me just sit there and play soothing instrumental songs?? I’ll update this when I confirm the date.

Since I make no money from my music so far, I’m forced to work a pointless job. So I shovel. I shovel the sidewalks of the apartments I live in. I wake up at 5:30 AM, sip some fresh, hot coffee, and stumble out the door, and shovel. It’s a terribly boring job, but at least I get some fresh air and a decent workout. My back is starting to ache less and my swollen, sore hands are slowly toughening up. I’m sure I am growing in this time of my life, as an individual and muscularly (cause I know my twig arms needed it), but gosh I can’t wait to just be a musician.

Hey everyone! I made this blog so you could keep up with what I’m up to in my music career. I hope to update this very often so it’s always current, and so basically I can have you along for the ride! So let’s get caught up…

Since October ’09 I have been on my own musically and starting a new journey. I’m currently working on a seven song instrumental album that I am very excited about! It’s been so long since I’ve written my own music, so I am pumped to be doing it again! The album has a mix of piano solo tracks and then songs with an ensemble of sorts. I’m just about finished with it, and will get it up on iTunes soon I hope! I’ll write more on the album and songs later. No title for it yet!

A couple months ago I was asked by Taylor Wilson, a friend of mine here in MN, to write and record some piano parts for his upcoming album. It was so much fun working with him! We recorded on New Year’s Eve, and the songs he wrote sound great, especially for this being his first attempt at song writing! His album is coming out this Spring/Summer, so be looking for it!

Another area of music I am very interested in is film music. I’ve had a love for soundtracks for a long time, so now that I have the time, I am really digging into that world and have been practicing by re-writing the music in movie trailers. I’m looking for any student/independent film makers who’d like an original score for their short film or anything else, so if you know of anyone, let me know!!! I’m very eager for the opportunity!
